Chandu Champion Trailer: Kartik Aaryan Stars as a Multifaceted Fighter Seeking Justice

Kartik Aryan starrer Chandu Champion will release in theaters on June 14.

The trailer of Kartik Aryan starrer Chandu Champion was released on Saturday in Kartik's hometown Gwalior. It shows Kartik Aryan as a man who wants to shine and excel from an early age. Inspired by the life of India's first Paralympic gold medallist, Murlikant Petkar, the film sees Karthik grow from a youth to a soldier, a boxer and finally a survivor.

The trailer takes an in-depth look at his life, as it follows the titular character at different ages and stages of life, from dreaming of becoming the champion of his village to joining the Indian Army, to rehabilitating athletes during the 1965 war. Shows who was shot as bullets. Fired up, Chandu refuses to surrender and fights back everywhere. The trailer features Kartik Aryan as an old man who wants to file a case against the President of India while arranging his medals.

Director Kabir Khan announced the title Chandu soon after the release of his film 83 (2021), based on the Indian cricket team's victory in the 1983 World Cup in England. The shooting of the film started in July 2023. It was said at the time that the film is based on the life of India's first Paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar, who won the gold medal at the 1972 Summer Paralympics in Germany.

In the latest poster of the film, Kartik Aryan looked ripped and Kabir shared in the comments section that Kartik's body fat went down from 39% to 7% for the role in the film. "Chandu's champion story is an incredibly inspiring true story, but Karthik's journey to becoming a champion is no less inspiring. I met him when he gained weight for the role. His body fat percentage was 39 percent I told him he has to portray an all-round athlete at the international level, he just smiled and said "I will do it" without steroids - which he was adamant about. In 2023, Karthik released two releases Shehzada and Satyaprem Ki Katha.
