PM Modi will swear in for a third term.

With PM Narendra Modi arriving at Rashtrapati Bhavan to take the oath of office, the Modi 3.0 government is ready to go to work. He is set to serve as India's prime minister for a third consecutive term. PM Modi will lead a coalition government this time around, though, following two terms in which the BJP held a majority by itself. The 73-year-old will be matching Jawaharlal Nehru's record of winning three consecutive general elections—1952, 1957, and 1962—to become the first prime minister.

Following the NDA's 293 seats in the Lok Sabha, led by the BJP, PM Modi will take office for a third term in office. The minimal majority in the Indian parliament's lower chamber, which has 543 members, is 272. After former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, he is the second leader to be elected to a third term in a row.
